The Supporting Safe & Thriving Communities Working Group works together to address the policy needs of communities, predominantly Black and Latinx ones, that have experienced systematic disinvestment and helps support a community-led vision of a thriving neighborhood.
Supporting a community-led vision of a thriving neighborhood.
The Safe & Thriving Communities Working Group members work together to explore opportunities and develop frameworks that support a holistic vision of safety that goes beyond current institutions’ visions because the safest communities are where members have the agency, tools, and resources to thrive.
This working group aims to:
Uplift the work and vision of community members.
Build shared goals around violence prevention, quality of life (e.g., education, economic cooperation, housing, health, etc.), and restorative and transformative justice.
Working group members will define additional goals, frameworks, and activities as they meet.
